Linux Projects
Well,
I was planning on working with MySpace Gopher to port it to Linux, but it seems that the author is having trouble keeping it working on Windows. To top that, it seems like it now uses a the flash player, which I know many people don’t install on Linux– weather it’s because of it’s licence or the fact that it’s only on IA32 at the moment.
Anyways, in a recent digg story, a fellow linux semi-newbie, who’s gmail account identifies him as Jordan, answered my request for help with developing a script (or series of scripts) that will automatically install eyecandy into a fresh debian system. I hope to have a semi-presentable product to turn loose within a week or so of the Debian GNU/Linux 4.0 (etch) official release. This is so that the Linux Gods that be can have a 2-click, 4-keystroke response to Microshaft’s Vista Interface.
I’m downloading Debian now (I lost my CDs and the ISOs are too big to keep around) and will start in a couple days… I’m not feeling my best atm.
If anyone else has advice or some serious knowledge of Linux eyecandy, email me.
