Linux Puhelin… Kiitos, Linus!

…ja ei Kiitos.

Linux powered Mobile

This phone from Haier, a chinese company, is linux powered and seems feature-packed. Although my V551 is perfect for my needs now, I’ve wanted to see what the 3G coverage is for my area…

The Company’s American site didnt mention anything about cell phones, so I browsed to the chinese one, navigating it with the skill and dexterity of a newborn trying to thread a needle. After much digging, many popup windows, and several online translators later, I came up with this feature list table:

Frequencies GSM 900/1800/1900MHz
Size w/small battery 94.8×48.5×28.3mm
Size w/large battery 94.8×48.5×25.3mm
Weight w/small battery 131g
Weight w/large battery 152g
Small battery capacity 900mAh
Large battery capacity 1450mAh (Li-ion)
Standby time w/small battery 120-200h
Standby time w/large battery 200-300h
Talk time w/small battery 150-220min
Talk time w/large battery 240-360min

More info on this phone can be fount at Haier’s website, here (Simplified chinese, unkown dialect)

more info when I can translate that page^^

Update: With the lack of 3G suport, and a price tag of ~$460, I can honestly say that I will never buy this phone.
